After all... physics is physics
The physical basics of optical and electro-optical metrology equipment and related inspection apparatuses, such as KLA defect inspectors and Hitachi CD-SEM have not changed since the late 1980s. Instrumentation and computer control technologies, however, have changed. This produces a clear mismatch between essentially capable vacuum/mechanical/electron lens/image processing/auto wafer loading systems and obsolete computer technologies. Semtronix recognizes this fact and integrates the key new technologies into older metrology and inspection equipment.
